Constable Wansink came and gave us some great advice on staying safe....here are some reminders of what she discussed:
NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS:...... - Your full name - Where you live (address) - Your phone number - How old you are (age & date of birth) - Where you go to school - Sports clubs, dance, drama groups, etc you belong to - Your Photos!!!!!! (Don’t put lots of photos about yourself)
TREAT EVERYONE AS A STRANGER!!
Remember all those rules you use in real life? Use them on the internet as well!
What if something pops up on your screen that is rude or scary??? Tell an adult straight away.
Facebook - you need to be 13years old to have an account! It is not intended for anyone under the age of 13years old.
When you are old enough - check the privacy settings (have it set on 'Friends Only'). You need to check this a couple of times a year as it can default back to 'Everyone'.
Cyber-bullying
If you forward, comment or laugh at it - you are part of the bullying!
Do not join it! Help the person being bullied - tell someone!
